An international partnership between a Swedish university and the Health Economic and HIV and AIDS Research Division (HEARD) based at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, has enabled the capacitation of early-career scientists on qualitative research methodologies. HEARD recently hosted a regional research workshop in Durban, bringing together their research partners from four African countries; Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mozambique.

Congratulations to two of HEARD's most recent PhD graduates - Vimbai Chibango and Kudakwashe Dube. Dr Chibango graduated with a PhD in Development Studies. Her dissertation research focused on understanding male and female perspectives regarding male involvement in the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV programmes in Zimbabwe.
