HEARD launches SRHR knowledge sharing platform

HEARD is excited announce the launch of SRHRConnect – a dedicated and live knowledge gateway offering evidence-based research and resources related to sexual and reproductive health and rights in East and Southern Africa.
The aim of SRHRConnect is to facilitate more effective, evidence-based policy and programming on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in East and Southern Africa by providing a knowledge brokering infrastructure. The platform primarily seeks to support researchers, policy makers, practitioners, civil society organisations, and funders.
Employing expertise from the HEARD research institute, resources uploaded to the knowledge gateway are filtered for significance and policy-relevancy. In this way, the knowledge gateway pulls together dispersed research in order to reduce barriers in engaging with the most reliable and recent evidence available.
Secondly, the country profiles provide an overview situation analysis of key issues and country-level trends in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. Country profiles contain pertinent political, economic and demographic data and description.
The vision for this platform is to develop in functionality and increasingly foster a unique and sustained convergence of researchers, policy makers, practitioners, civil society organisations, and funders through focused engagement with and collaboration on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in East and Southern Africa.
