The Gendered Impact of COVID-19

HEARD researchers form part of an informal gender and COVID-19 working group which is aimed at fostering discussion around the gendered impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak and responses, as well as identifying opportunities to address these.
The working group brings together a diverse array of individuals from academia, multilateral agencies and the civil society sector to share work on the diversity of gendered effects of COVID-19 across the globe and to collaborate in areas of common interest.
Topics include but are not limited to the increased vulnerability of gender-based violence, the economic and livelihood impact on the most vulnerable populations and the burden of unpaid care as well as the gendered impacts on the health care workers. HEARD will continue to post articles related to this working group.
