Samuel Gormley
- Operations Director
Samuel Gormley is a qualified accountant and company secretary with more than 15 years in the finance field, 10 of these in the NGO sector. He deputises for the director and is responsible for the overall functioning of the organisation. He is also responsible for all fundraising activities.
Before joining HEARD in June 2010, Samuel was divisional manager for one of Durban’s oldest non-profit organisation, The Association for the Aged (TAFTA), where he ran their finance division and later their internal audit, administration, systems, human resources, income development and public relations division.
At HEARD Samuel is involved in a number of capacity building initiatives in Eastern and Southern Africa and currently sits on the board of directors of Africa Capacity Alliance in Kenya. He also serves as treasurer and chair of the finance committee of the Africa Capacity Alliance.
