In September, Peg Murray-Evans from York University, convened a project meeting at Kings Manor in York, United Kingdom to develop a joint proposal, focused on advancing equitable vaccine and therapeutics production in Africa, for submission to the Wellcome Trust. The proposed project seeks to transform the governance of medical production and supply chains to better serve African communities, building lasting capacity and fostering community-led approaches to health equity.

The proposal aims to be a bold, multi-country research programme that will map and reshape the power structures, policies, and governance systems underpinning vaccine and therapeutic production across Africa. It is expected that this collaboration will mark an important step toward building a more just and resilient global health landscape.
