Proposed topic: The changing role of Ministries of Health and NACs in the governance of National AIDS Responses: A Comparative Study of South Africa and Ethiopia from 1990-2015.

Mesfin has a Master’s degree in Social Anthropology from Addis Ababa University. His work has focused on social and economic challenges facing the urban poor, marginalised groups, women and young people. He is presently involved in a regional initiative that aims to develop the capacity of municipal authorities of major cities and their partners in East and Southern Africa for enhanced response to HIV and AIDS. He currently works as a Policy Specialist at the United Nations Development Programme based in Addis Ababa.
