HEARD students graduate with their PhDs
The month of May was a time of celebration at HEARD with the graduation of Dr Monica Ansu-Mensah and Dr Kwabena Asare who have both been supported in their studies through the HEARD PhD Scholarship Programme. Dr Ansu-Mensah’s thesis evaluated the accessibility, barriers and potential solutions to implementation/sustainability of point-of-care diagnostic testing services at the primary healthcare level in the Bono Region in Ghana. The study revealed poor availability and moderate geographical accessibility to the WHO-recommended diagnostic tests in the region....

HEARD presents findings of their research on young key populations in Mozambique
The University of Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) and HEARD presented and discussed the findings of their joint longitudinal research on young key populations in Mozambique. The research explored societal attitudes towards LGBTI people and women who sell sex, and the interactions of these young people with their families and wider community. Bridging the Gap – Men and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights
There has been increased attention to the role of men and boys as partners, fathers, and change agents in advancing SRHR for women and children in East and Southern Africa, and addressing their specific needs through targeted information and services.
