Suraya began working at HEARD in 2005. She is a Researcher. Suraya obtained her Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (including Honors) in 2001, majoring in Psychology and Industrial Psychology as well as obtaining her Masters Degree in populations studies from UKZN.

Compiled a Policy Brief for research done on Faith Based Organizations and HIV/AIDS in Uganda and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa). Worked with colleagues on a literature review and compilation of draft report for "The Impact of HIV/AIDS on the South African Health System", Participated in the Health Systems Researcher workshop - 05-06 December 2005.
