Sbo Radebe

Sibonakaliso Radebe is a Field Coordinator at HEARD, University of KwaZulu-Natal. He joined HEARD in September 2003. Sibonakaliso’s work involves recruiting research assistants, participants for research projects, undertaking fieldwork and conducting interviews.

He provides research assistance to various kinds of projects. His experience covers: liaison with communities, coordinating fieldwork, collecting and capturing data and supervising field team.

Before joining HEARD, since 1992 Sibonakaliso has worked for several research organizations in various provinces in South Africa. His field of interest around HIV/AIDS issues includes orphans and vulnerable children, land restitution and food security. S’bo is involved in Value trust project CCCS, iThembalethu: teach kids about HIV and aids and sexual behaviour, and to monitor the project to see if it’s effective. CFS: (child future security study) this study wants to see how parents are planning for the future of their children in regard to HIV/AIDS. These three projects fit into programme 2 and answers the question, what does vulnerability mean?
