HEARD at the International AIDS Conference (Vienna)

Eleven HEARD representatives attended the conference; in addition to researchers, they included HEARD's executive director, its African Leadership and Capacity Building programmes leader and its communications and marketing manager. Representatives participated in a spectrum of activities during the conference to share knowledge and evidence from HEARD's research and to raise awareness of who HEARD is and what we do.

Some activities included:

HEARD researchers presented 14 research posters summarising a selection of their research work. Click here to view and download the research posters.

HEARD's African Leadership Support Programme hosted a satellite session entitled, The state of HIV in cities and slums: presenting evidence and a consultation on an important yet very neglected issue.

HEARD's Disability and HIV/AIDS Project co-hosted a networking zone with the International Disability Development Consortium (IDDC), Volunteer Service Overseas (VSO), EU-Cord, Liverpool VCT and Mildway at the Global Village.

A HEARD exhibition stand which raised the organisation's visibility and profile, showcased the organisation's research and provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate research-related materials to an industry-related target market.
