Knowledge development for RIATT-ESA website

The Regional Interagency Task Team on Children and AIDS in Eastern and Southern Africa (RIATT-ESA) is looking for knowledge development support from a subject specialist for its website, which is the primary vehicle for sharing information and knowledge with its audience. The audience includes policy makers, NGO partners, RECs, Development Partners and academic institutions in eastern and Southern Africa and beyond.

Specifically, we are seeking brief but thought provoking, evidence based opinion pieces; synthesis of research on themes below- bringing out policy and programming implications for the region; pointers on upcoming issues; gaps in policy and programming; latest research and statistics and human interest Themes related to children and HIV

  • Prevention, treatment and care and support include:
  • Child marriage and teenage pregnancy
  • Gender based violence
  • Violence Against Children (VAC)
  • Child Protection
  • Psychosocial support
  • Disabilities
  • Social Protection
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Social workforce capacity (village health workers, health professionals)
  • Sexuality Education
  • Adolescent and youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and rights
  • Children and Adolescents Living With HIV (girls and boys)
  • Stigma, discrimination and disclosure
  • Domestic Financing
  • Children of key populations stories (approx. 1-2 pages, at least 2 articles per month).

Context
Articles must be developed in the context of one or more of the following:

  • SDGs
  • 3 Frees (Start Free, Stay Free, AIDS Free)
  • 90-90-90 targets
  • Minimum Package for Delivering Comprehensive Services for Orphans and Vulnerable
    Children
  • EAC Minimum Standards for Delivering Comprehensive Services to Vulnerable Children
  • Minimum Standards for the Integration of HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health in the
  • SADC region
  • SADC, EAC Strategy for HIV and OVCY
  • ESA Ministerial Commitment
  • AU Catalytical Framework to end AIDS, TB and Malaria by 2030

We offer a small honorarium, opportunity to contribute to regional knowledge pool and publication
through RIATT-ESA blogs and regional media.
To apply, send an expression of interest to naume.kupe@repssi.org by 27 March 2017, detailing
experience, availability, number and types of articles to be provided and the fee expected. A contract
will be drawn for 6 months with possibility of extension to the end of the year. For more information
