Mandise began working at HEARD as a Research Fellow in 2003. Her expertise lies in research: qualitative & quantitative methods, programme evaluation, workshop facilitation, proposal writing, computer literate, educator, report writing and publication in journals, presentation skills and journal article review.

Her responsibilities are as follows; leading a team of ten research assistants in a research study of orphans and vulnerable children in Amajuba District of KwaZulu Natal, Development of research protocol and instruments,
Supervision of the collection of field data and management of field log book, Responsible for training Research Assistants in various research sklls,
Supervising and training staff working on designated sub-projects,
Quality control of field data collected by Research Assistants,
Organising stakeholder updates and briefings on project activities,
Responsible for maintenance and update of database,
Data analysis and Monitoring and Evaluation.
