Dr. Kwame Owusu-Ampomah is Senior Research Fellow at HEARD, having joined the organisation in September 2007. He is an economist and a social policy analyst by training, with a BA from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, an MA (cum laude) in social policy from the former University of Durban-Westville, and a DBA from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Westville Campus).

Dr Owusu-Ampomah has extensive teaching and hands-on experience in social science research methods, having worked as lecturer, research specialist, and development research and strategy consultant. He has published widely in academic journals, contributed chapters in books, and written a number of research reports. Currently, Kwame is the lead researcher for HEARD's Lesotho ‘Emergency' Response Project, and co-ordinator of three other research projects: HIV/AIDS and Health Systems Reform Project, Vukuzakhe Research Project, and the Adolescent Project.
