Joanne joined HEARD on the 2 May 2007. Joanne completed her B.Compt (Hons) through the University of South Africa in 1999. As far as practical experience goes, Joanne completed her traineeship with Moores Rowland International.

Upon completion of her traineeship, she got married and traveled abroad. It was during these travels that she entered the field of risk management. Upon returning to South Africa, Joanne joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (Durban) in their risk management division where she remained for the next seven years. During this time Joanne specialised in financial systems policies and procedures. Between leaving PricewaterhouseCoopers and joining HEARD, Joanne spent 18 months lecturing UNISA's BComm subjects at Varsity College. Joanne was employed by HEARD to manage their finance department.
