Jacqui Hadingham joined HEARD in January 2007. Jacqui has a background in economic development planning and research, and an MSc in Applied Biology (Immunology) from the University of London.

Prior to joining HEARD, Jacqui worked at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine, where she was involved in research and capacity-building for the UKZN AIDS Programme. She also undertook preliminary work on an HIV vaccine. She has co-authored several papers and research reports dealing with both the biomedical and socioeconomic aspects of the HIV epidemic, and has a particular interest in the interplay between globalisation and health-care delivery and access.
Jacqui’s main focus at HEARD is the management of the World Bank/ UNAIDS Economics Reference Group Secretariat activities. Jacqui’s role in HEARD is that of a Researcher / Co-ordinator. She assists in the management and participation in research projects for funders and supervising, mentorship and management of interns, staff and students. Her Project experience thus far at HEARD is as follows: 1. Household Impacts Study • Life Course Analysis to assess microeconomic impacts of HIV, prepared for the Dept of International Development ( DFID), UK government • Liaison with client on TOR and assistance in preparation of proposal and budget • Substantive contribution to research and report 2. Fiscal Space Study • Macroeconomic analysis of impacts of scaling up HIV programmes, prepared for the Dept of International Development (DFID), UK government • Management of sub-consultant and liaison with client • Assistance in preparation of proposal and budget 3. UNAIDS – Economics Reference Group Secretariat • Management of ERG Secretariat activities • Preparation and dissemination of meeting materials • Commissioning of papers • Financial control and budgeting • Management of World Bank contract to provide payment and services to members of the ERG Jacqui currently is working on UNAIDS Economics Reference Group, HIV Incidence study and support for ODI / LSTM. These three projects fit into both programmes and answer questions 1 and 2, Key drivers and impacts and Effective responses. |
