Ishmael began working at HEARD in September 2006. He is the Office/Research Assistant at our Newcastle Satellite Office.

He provides support for research related activities such as Preparing and writing research reports, General filing, Stock taking, Managing the library, Contributing to HEARD/NSO strategic management, General information dissemination through writing of papers and articles, Liaising with Office Administrators on all supply orders for the office, taking minutes for staff meetings, assisting the Office Administrator with administrative and other office duties.

Ishmael's projects are ACHWRP and ABBA. These focus on programme 2. The Programme focuses on the well-being of Children
Intervention strategies on orphans and vulnerable children. Describes concepts of vulnerablility among children and households (socio-economic; health; risky beahviors). Longitudinal study looking at:
Describe impact of parental death on well-being of children in Amajuba District. Use research findings to inform child welfare agencies.
