African Young Researchers Initiative Call for Papers
To support the development of young researchers in the region, HEARD is offering young researchers individualised academic writing support from a senior HIV researcher. This was piloted among an initial group of young researchers in 2009.
If you are a young researcher (under 35 on 1 January 2010) in the SADC and EAC region and have exciting and original research on universal access to prevention, treatment, care and support and you wish to submit an article to a reputable peer-reviewed international journal, then read on.
HEARD will support up to 12 qualified young researchers by linking them to international academic mentors who will support the writing of an article for submission for publication.
The year 2010 is the target year in which the world is meant to achieve universal access to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support. While there are significant gains being made in achieving this target, there are huge steps still to be made, particularly in southern and eastern Africa.
Given the challenge of achieving universal access, we need to start to rethinking how to achieve these goals. HEARD believes that "Young Minds can develop New Solutions", by innovatively and creatively thinking outside the box.
