Programme Advisory Committee

The Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) provides strategic input and oversight to the Programme. It is made up by a cross-section of the top researchers, academics and activists in the field of gender and HIV/AIDS from southern and eastern Africa. The PAC meets yearly.

Rachel Jewkes

Rachel Jewkes is the Director of the Gender and Health Unit and the MRC - Jewkes's research focuses primarily on the intersection of gender-based violence and HIV and AIDS in South Africa. She is the Secretary of the Sexual Violence Research Initiative, an initiative of the Global Forum for Health Research. Rachel Jewkes

Sipho Mthathi

Sipho Mthathi is the Director of the South African office of Human Rights Watch. Prior to this Mthathi has held various positions at the Treatment Action Campaign, including General Secretary and National Deputy Chairperson. Dean Peacock

Dean Peacock is the Director and Co-Founder Sonke Gender Justice. Peacock currently serves on the UNAIDS Global Task Force on Women, Girls, Gender Equality and HIV, and was recently named as a member of the UN Secretary-General's Network of Men Leaders Dean Peacock

Cheryl Potgeiter

Cheryl Potgeiter is the Dean of Research, UKZN - Potgeiter is a social psychologist by training whose research has focused on gender and sexuality. Potgeiter was the founding director and Head of the HSRC's Gender and Development Unit. Cheryl Potgieter
