Before joining HEARD, Clara worked for NGOs in Mexico and Bangladesh. Clara is involved in the following projects at HEARD: Red Countries/ LMIC/Swazi emergency- looks at Swaziland and Lesotho with high HIV prevalence and falling social indicators, like life expectancy and matches those with natural emergencies like Tsunamis. Which then leads them to asses whether the country is experiencing an emergency or not, in this instance HIV, Clara’s team would then look at the response and if there has been a declaration of emergency or not. In other words, they measure the response and if it is commensurate with the emergency taking place. Clara’s projects fall into both programmes 1 and 2. Which means they answer all three questions being asked, key drivers and impacts, effective responses and what does vulnerability mean? |
