Busisiwe Nkosi is Senior Researcher at HEARD’s Newcastle Satellite Office, having joined the organisation in April 2006 to provide in situ management of the Amajuba Child and Wellbeing Research Project ( ACHWRP). Dr Nkosi has extensive experience with on-the-ground participatory research methods in South Africa.

She holds a B. Paed Home Economics from the University of Zululand, a BA (Hons) in Human Ecology from the University of the Western Cape, an MA in Environment and Development from UKZN, and a PhD from the University of Minnesota, USA, focused on Family Social Science and Public Health. Dr Nkosi’s work experience includes programme evaluation research, conservation-based community development, public health interventions and community organising.
