Ashmin Singh

ashmin.jpgAshmin is a Researcher at HEARD. Her duties comprise of, writing up papers for publications/presentations; conducting debriefings for two different projects; organizing and co-ordinated an art competition for the children of this district.

The Department of Arts & Culture representatives also attended. She Participated in a trauma workshop hosted by the University of Limpopo in collaboration with the University of California, Los Angeles' neuropsychological department. Her attendance was relevant for a prospective collaborative project between HEARD. and the University of Konstanz, Germany. Writing up and editing of proposals for funding of this prospective longitudinal project. Assisted colleagues with IT challenges in relation to email provider. Presented research findings to the local governmental departments as well as the community based organizations and non-governmental departments. Ashmin also presented these findings at the Newcastle Aids Council meeting, as well as broadcasting a part of the findings on the Newcastle Community Radio.


Ashmin has a Bachelor of Social Science (UND), Bachelor of Arts (Honours in Psychology) (UDW) as well as a Master of Arts - Research Psychology - (UDW).
She majored in Psychology and Industrial Psychology and also is a Lifeline Counsellor, of which she obtained a Merit Award in Honours in 1999.
