The Rural Health Conference titled "Making Primary Health Care Better”, took place from 8-10 September 2011 in the rural village of Rhodes in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The conference focused on primary health care and its integration into district health systems, as well as on the role of the multidisciplinary team in primary health care. For the first time the conference included a dedicated rehabilitation and disability track. This included a session on the interrelationship of disability and HIV with presentations from researchers from HEARD, WITs University as well as occupational, physiotherapy and speech therapists. The rehabilitation approach became a vital part of the rural health conference this year. For more info click here.
